Fall 2011 Update

Hey Folks!

First off...

I can't thank you enough for following Lily's Lunch

And want you to know we REALLY appreciate it!

So, we had a wonderfully busy summer,

filled with new and exciting changes :)

We bought a house, and are now fully moved in!

Craig and I... GOT ENGAGED!!!!!

...And Lily's Arthritis is now fully diagnosed,

and she's now on a whoooole lot of Advil :/

She's improving though, 

and with the help of keeping active, 

she's still pretty much a normal kid :)

The "Klip It"

We found a new lunch container!!

It's called the "Klip It" from Sistema,

and I found this one at Backyard & Veranda for $7.99

(And then of course found it at Stokes a week later for $6.99)

I LOVE This!!!

It compartmentalizes everything completely,

(not partially, like some others)

I'm finding that I can fit just enough food in there for Lily

if I add fluffing like cupcake cups and napkins,

but it'll pack in enough food for myself or even Craig,

(He'd love the pink, lol)

Important to note though, it's not liquid tight!

Wet foods are mostly ok,

liquids are not.

Though the other time I sent syrup,

A note about Craig...

This summer, Craig underwent some testing 

to see if he had a gluten resistance.

As a precaution, we went gluten-free

for about a month and a half!

When I say we, I mean all of us!

(Myself, Lily and Craiggers)

It was just easier cooking one meal,

baking one kind of cookies, etc.

As it turned out, he's not resistant to gluten,

but we have some gluten-free lunches all the same :)

In Craig's Lunch:

 (dough & sauce from a box)

It's the most,

wonderful time....

of the year....!!!!!

Introducing... Craig's Lunch!

Since he's a grown man who could

make his own lunch, but chooses not to,

and I won't see him starve or waste money on take out,

he's getting kid lunches too, 

unless he makes his own :)

In Craig's Lunch:

Red and green seedless grapes

Cooked chicken with jalapeno havarti hippos

Salad with lettuce, green and red peppers,

mushrooms, and bits of jalapeno havarti.

(He also had Caesar dressing on the side)

All in all, I am proud of of Lily's grade primary lunches,
and consider it a year well spent,
