Update

Hello folks!

My sincerest apologies for being absent for the last month :(

It's been pretty crazy over here!

Where to start...?

So, it's been confirmed that 

Lily has juvenile arthritis :(

She's only at the onset, 

but she's had 4 bouts of symptoms

in the last 7 months, 

with the most recent being this week.

We are being referred to a new specialist

who specializes in joints, 

and will let you know how things go.

On a happier note,

we've been crazy busy house hunting, and...

We found a house!!

They've accepted our offer,

we've paid the deposit,

and the home inspection is Sunday morning :)

Keeping our fingers crossed,

and praying to St. Joseph

that everything goes well!

I've also been pretty busy since 

wedding season is now in full swing,

and I've got 3 weddings this month

I'm scheduled to sing at! 

All told, 

I'm averaging 3 scheduled rehearsals a week for various gigs,

and about 2-3 miscellaneous gigs each week!

And keep in mind I also have a day job!

Can you say busy??

I love doing it though, so really I can't complain :)

And here we are, and it's June already!

JUNE!!  

School's out soon, and I'm not sure I'm ready :(

I'm going to miss all the lovely social aspects of school,

For Lily and for myself.

I'll miss my morning chats with the mommies,

and Lily's going to be soooo bored without school!!

We'll definitely be scheduling 

as many playdates as we can this summer!!

So, what happens to the blog in the summer?

Well, I'm not sure :/

I do plan to post pictures,

however it won't be every week.

Come September though, 

we'll be back in full swing!

Yet Another Misc. Lunch

In This Lunch:

Green grape kabobs

Cucumber slices

1 really big strawberry

Multigrain bagel with butter

Chocolate chickie

Spaceship Lunch

This lunch was totally inspired by the fact that 

not all of Lily's apples would fit in one compartment,

so I put them in beside the banana,

and thought:

"Hey, that looks like a spaceship!"

And a spaceship was born :)

Yay for inspiration :)

In This Lunch:

1/2 a banana

1/2 an apple

Cheese whiz sandwich on white bread

White cheddar slice ship and moon

Shredded orange & white cheddar cheese flames

Chocolate chip granola bar ground

Heart Lunch

In This Lunch:

Ham and sliced orange cheddar sandwich on multigrain bread

Raspberry fruit leather hearts

Cucumber hearts

Green apple hearts that turn brown really quickly :/

The 'Normal' Lunch

This particular morning, Lily came into the kitchen, and whined:

"I don't want a theme today.  (Insert another child's name here) says

that my lunches are always the same."

To which I replied: "HUH??"

(If you've seen any other postings on this blog, 

you'd know they're NEVER the same).

So, we devised a plan, and thought we'd try out something new...

NO Theme,

just to see what this child would say.

Of course, and as I suspected, the kid didn't even care about her lunch.

Go figure.

Oh well, back to fun lunches tomorrow :)

Sunshine Lunch

Rain, rain, go away...

30 of the last 40 days here in our part of Nova Scotia,

it has rained :(

I place this sun here as a hope and a prayer,

"Please God, let there be sun???"

Carrot sticks (aka sun rays)

Sunny looking greeny/yellow apple slices

In This Lunch:

Strawberry jam sandwich on whole wheat

Sugar snaps

Raspberry fruit leather flowers

Cheesy pretzel stick stem

Horsey Lunch

In This Lunch:

Ham and cheese whiz sandwich on multigrain bread

Carrot sticks

White cheddar horsey

Rosemary and olive oil triscuit cracker haybail

Gummy candy sun (held with yellow heart pick)

Green grapes

Sugar snaps

Extra note: (Even the muffin cups, 

though you can't see the bottoms of them,

have horsey pictures on them) :)

You know when you get to the point

where you're so burnt out from your crazy-busy day-to-day life

where just thinking creatively is a chore?
